Every young athlete wants to jump in the sand and why wouldn’t they, the long jump and triple jump are great events and lots of fun. Any athlete can do it but why is it that some can do it better than others. Genetics, fitness, strength and speed have a lot to say about this but like all everything, there is a wrong way, good way and best way to jump in the sand.
The best way to learn to jump safely and correctly in Albury/Wodonga is with Off Leash Athletics Long Jump and Triple Jump Coaching.
Over the years my own children have continually gravitated to long and triple jumps. That resulted in us taking a keen interest in these events and fueled a thirst to do it well and that they did. Multiple Region and State Titles and medals, School/Club/Centre records culminating in 2021 with the U15G Athletics Australia National Long Jump Title in 2021 along with a bronze medal in the Triple jump. At the time of writing I am very proud to say that Mikayla is Nationally ranked at No. 2 in the long jump and No. 3 in the triple jump.
Off Leash Athletics jumps coaching isn’t about jumping in to the sand pit over and over again. We look to develop our athletes with event specific drills and exercises, teach safe jumps practices and have plenty of fun along the way. To us the sand pit is like a swimming pool. We love getting ‘wet’ and covered in sand. If this sounds like the coaching you have been looking for don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. During the off season we typically do our ‘jumps’ training on a Friday afternoon.
